So, here comes the time of the year again when everybody is gathering for Omas Geburtstag (sigh).. It’s actually my husband’s granny.
I try to distant myself from giving her a ‘redundant’ gift, as what she would surely get every single year (poor old lady).
Anyone can suggest something interesting? I was thinking of looking something special online, as it would not be so ordinary (lame) as what one would usually find in shops.
Mind you…. Oma is still young at heart (although turning 81 soon). Drives her favourite VW Polo and loves art and funny stuff 🙂
Hoping our bday gift this year would surprise her (and make others asking about it..lol).
thx
February 7, 2013 at 10:19 pm #2469vorlesserMemberhey, sounds like cool Oma you have there. haha!
I’m not sure what she really is into, but i would suggest to you an online-shop http://www.allyoucanpink.at
Got to know about it from my daughter. Love it! They only sell pink stuffs there. 😀
Very interesting and cool stuffs. Bought myself some girly pink plates for a party last week.
Anyways, take a look at the website. Hope you find something for the birthday gal

Anyway, I suggest you have a look in Kare on Mariahilferstrasse. Lots of interesting and quirky stuff for the home in there.
February 8, 2013 at 5:54 pm #2471SilviaMemberOne gift that was a hit for my 80 year old mother this year was a digital photo frame loaded with pictures from her childhood up to one of her great grandchild.
And another one might be “time”. Often time with family and friends is much more appreciated than material things. She might enjoy a monthly lunch, dinner or just coffee and cake outing with you and your husband. You can make a certificate with a computer.
Also a beautiful scarf is always nice since scarves are a fashion must in Vienna for most! Pink is a great color for older ladies, especially the darker tones. But I have always loved pink and impending old age has not changed that so my choice might be a bit biased!

February 16, 2013 at 9:20 pm #2481vorlesserMembernot sure when the birthday is, but you also can check out some vintage stores in neubaugasse for some cool clothing though 😀

Quoting Silvia in agreement.
Loden Plankl (Michaelerplatz, Wien 1010) has beautiful, classy scarves.

Yes I did. Thanks for your suggestion. Got her a couple of cool stuffs from http://www.allyoucanpink.at
Actually I bought her a pink carwash set (which i doubt she would ever use it..lol) and a pink gardening tool set (which she likes so, so, so much!). She might be 81, but hey, there’s always a little girl inside of us ladies, no matter at what age. And she loves pink!!!
Would really recommend the online shop to those who are searching for cool and really unique stuffs. But then, as you said, they are really pink…lol
As for designqvist…well, I went to their shop once end of last year by chance. I must say, IMHO, for scandinavish design stuffs, I would drive straight to Ikea for a tenth of the price 😀
February 17, 2013 at 11:22 pm #2487iheartmypandaMemberIf anyone else is looking for gifts… most our christmas gifts this year were from either:
http://www.sowaswillichauch.de
or
ww.fab.de
Both have awesome stuff and are worth a look! We are currently decorating our flat with stuff from fab.de- very hipster. 😉

That you can buy from popular Flower Delivery Near Me service as their flowers are always fresh. She will definitely love this.
