Well hello there everyone!
Would it be possible to bother you for some feedback?
I am starting up a food blog about healthy eating in the city of Vienna. I changed my diet drastically a year ago to only whole foods (often known as clean eating) and it took a lot of research, a lot of label reading, and a lot of google translate!
I have discovered some tips and tricks about where to find what and how to make what quickly and on a budget. I would like to share my findings as I am constantly having people ask me on FB how they can take some steps to being healthier.
Some posts I am working on:
– what is the healthiest lunch I can pick up at Ströck/Der Mann, etc.
– reviews of restaurants that provide good, whole, and healthy food
– if you want to buy only organic but aren’t rich- what do you buy where?
– Suggestions for a good value juicer, food processor, etc. and where to get them.
– tips for greener living in the city.My question is: does this sound interesting? Is there anything any of you would like to see on a blog like this?
Here is the link to the trial blog: http://ueberfood.tumblr.com
I would really love any feedback!
Thanks!
Mariana

March 29, 2013 at 4:33 pm #2520LuvwinesMemberThey don’t seem to be in Vienna.
March 29, 2013 at 4:54 pm #2521kamdadMemberWell this was going to be the next line of questioning on my forum, but I’d rather read the blog instead. Looking forward to your posts.
(Didn’t think this question was as pertinent in Europe as it is in the States due to (what I read to be) tighter regulations on use of GMOs, pesticides, etc.)
March 29, 2013 at 5:10 pm #2522iheartmypandaMemberThank you Kamad!
GMO’s are very much an issue here too. The good news is that the regulations are very strict when it comes to organic food. They should be GMO free. I am currently doing more research on the issue and there will be posts about it. 🙂
Luvwines- To be honest, I am currently slowly transitioning to a vegan lifestyle because of my issues with how the animals are treated. It isn’t as bad as in America here but still not ideal. My husband eats meat and I make sure I buy only organic meat for him. Ja! Natürlich is part of a lot of projects (currently a really interesting one with eggs- it is backed by Vier Pfoten) and for simplicity’s sake, I do buy their organic meat in Merkur. The animals are promised to get time outside and eat grass and hay. I am not sure how accurate this is though. I plan to look into it further. 🙂
March 30, 2013 at 6:05 am #2523LuvwinesMemberI figured as much but it would be interesting to have some alternatives to bio-fleisch from merkur and any other info you can come up with. I am sure it would help your readership if you have not only vegan info.
April 5, 2013 at 10:32 am #2527kavinMemberde digital stuff is the app itself

so, still, u both could link up perhaps
why not another food blog
April 19, 2013 at 2:12 pm #2537WienAMemberAs someone who loves …! food, I will read it for sure!
Advertise the blog wherever you can! There is another Vienna expat forum too which does not force people to log in to read so you might get better visibility there.
Good luck and thanks!
April 19, 2013 at 5:42 pm #2538SilviaMemberYou do not have to log in to read here either WienA. if you do there is a glitch and I have yet to have anyone report it.
April 19, 2013 at 6:38 pm #2539chefsmithMemberI always have to log in to read most things, it’s a pain when using a mobile, so i usually just don’t bother.
I would probably read and contribute more if the log in wasn’t there to be honest.
April 19, 2013 at 7:02 pm #2540SilviaMemberSorry! will take a look to see where the problem is to view. There will always be a log in to post because without the spam would go o crazy!
April 19, 2013 at 10:18 pm #2541iheartmypandaMemberThank you chef smith! I started posting and the ideas keep coming. Having tons of fun! I will check out the other forum. 🙂
April 20, 2013 at 5:09 am #2542chefsmithMemberI actually shared your blog on Facebook panda, there a few friends who have just embarked upon a huge lifestyle change and have become vegans, one of whom is blogging the experience too.
I’m a bonafide meat eater, but I did enjoy reading your blog.
April 20, 2013 at 5:02 pm #2543HelliMemberThank you ,,, great idea,,,Love your blog!
It is not so easy here, I read online (Arbeiterkammerl /SP?) that a lot of the ‘organic’ veg at the karmelitremarkt. Nashmarkt + others, in fact tested as not being organic. The Veg at Hofer was the best organic, nothing whatsoever was found. Reasonable priced too. Anything else that you are going to post I am going to read, I love healthy eating!
Chia seeds ! Latest discovery 🙂
