Austria’s biggest gay and lesbian sports club Aufschlag Wien is the driving force behind this. Annually, they hold the Vienna Beach Trophy, Europe’s biggest GLBT beach volleyball tournament.

Apart from Aufschlag, there are a number of clubs which are dedicated to improving the physical fitness of gay and lesbian bodies in a comfortable atmosphere. Kaiserbründl – The younger brother of Emperor Franz Josef was one of the patrons in what is today the Kaiserbründl bathhouse. He truly enjoyed the pleasures of the oriental bath and its guests, which caused an enormous scandal at the turn of the last century. This largest Viennese gay sauna offers a steam bath, Finnish sauna, fitness, a cruising labyrinth, etc.
