Best LGBT Parties in Vienna
If you’re new in the city and uncertain about the LGBT club and party scene here, the information below might be of some help. Vienna is spectacularly diverse in what if offers in terms of bars, clubs, parties and events, but the following places have been recommended by fellow expats who consider these to be the undoubtedly best.
The Circus is, as they put it, “Austria’s biggest gay party”. It probably doesn’t even need more of an introduction than that. But I’ll go ahead and give you one anyway. Located at Arena Wien, one of the biggest concert and event venues in the city, this party offers special shows and different floors in order to satisfy all musical tastes. And because it only takes place 2 to 4 times per year it really gives you something to look forward to.
Meat Market is a travelling party, meaning it’s not always organized in the same place, which is great because you can also discover new places. But although the location changes, the people and music pretty much stay the same. Techno lovers never miss it.
Ficken Plus is usually held in Das Werk . The party was described to me as “a mix between Berlin techno raver scene and trash-pop” (anonymous party-goer) and as a really good place to go if you feel like shaking that booty.
Porntrash offers a combination of pop charts, mainstream and trash music. As the name might have already suggested this party tends to be a bit more on the sexual side of things, also providing the party goers with go-go’s and naked dancers. HOT!
The last three (Meat Market, Ficken Plus and Porntrash) are all organized by the same guy, who has been described as a “brilliant DJ”, if not “the best and most professional DJ in Vienna”.
Last but not least, Malefiz usually takes place in Brut, smack in the center of the city. Together with Rhinoplasty, which is a bimonthly free party in Club U (right across the street from Brut), these two are the favorites for the more artsy and hipster-y scene.
