I wonder if employers would mind less about age when it comes to an Executive Assistant? Some executive prefer a “seasoned” assistant. Maybe a picture will help since I look younger than my age? ugh
I had to smile at this. When I got here I was 45 and the guy at the state Employment Agency, told my skills were excellent, My German was weak , but that could be overlooked since firms were looking for English speakers, then told me , my age was a problem, and added very charmingly however, you do not look that old.
Age discrimination is a big problem here, for the Austrians themselves as well as anyone else.
Good Luck on your search though.
I also recommend self employment if possible until you find something. It is always easier to find a job when one has one.

What sort of self-employment do you mean? As someone in a similar boat (though I’m 34 and don’t look my age, either), I want to make sure that I optimize my chances of finding work.
(Problem for me will be that as a US citizen who is trying to avoid the “get married to get visa” route, I would like to try to find something that will legally allow me to live with my boyfriend..)
Would it be tough to get accepted to university to finish my degree because of my age, as well?
