Hi,
I will be moving in to Vienna on the 1st of march and i was looking for some information regarding internetproviders available in Vienna especialy in the 20th district(Brigittenau). I’ve took into accout 3 options:
1. Telekom austia, which offers a bundle: Internet(only 8Mbps in my area), TV, fix and mobile phone.
2. UPC which offers the same except mobile phone, with the only observation that the service is more expensive.
3. Blizznet which is a new service from Wiener Energie.
Thank you in advance.
telering or T mobile small flash will do
I have it and it work well
for 10
or 15 per month
much cheaper and better
sunlight any usage/data restrictions?
OP – I use Telekom and it works fine
It also depends on where you live – in my building, we can’t get the cable from UPC, only the telephone & internet part. I have UPC (formerly Inode xdsl) and the service is o.k. It took 5 weeks for them to deliver a new wireless modem – that really burned me up!
I have Mobilkom and the service goes down at least once a day, but only for a few minutes. My colleague also had the same issue. The do have a fiber optic option which might be better. If I had to choose today, I would give UPC a try.
I checked again and in the area where i live, i have 2 options for the internet connection:
1. UPC with up to 102 Mbps Download/ 10 Mbps Upload speed.
2. Telekom Austria with only 8Mbps.
When you check the numbers, you can clearly say UPC, the fact is that i read some posts on other Forums, where UPC service was heavily criticized.
Furthermore i heared that they limit torrent traffic.
What do you know about this?

UPC has passed a bittorrent throttle test, but it does occasionally drop out during high bit rate transfers, but stress only sometimes and you will have to turn off and on the modem.
